After the passenger train no. 70200 came to stand at Ohrid train stop between Rakevo and Boychinovtsi stations at 07:50 hrs. on 26.06.2013, its electric locomotive no. 44-074.3 caught fire. All passengers were evacuated and the wagons of the train were distanced from the burning locomotive.
The fire was extinguished by fire trucks at the site. Neither casualties nor injuries of the rail staff and passengers resulted from the accident. The train movement was restored at 16:45 on the same date.

At 09:28 PM local time on 03/09/2013 the last car of the International fast train No: 465 Bucharest-Istanbul derailed with one bogie during its transit pass on Track No 3 before railway shunt No:3 in Raduntsi rail station. The derailed couchette car No. 51 75 5040 012-4 is of the Turkish railway administration (TCDD) property. After transferring the passengers, IFT № 465 departed with one car from Raduntsi station with 86 minutes delay at 22:30 hrs.
At 16:20 PM local time on 04.09.2013 after performed accident repair works on the railroad of the 3-rd track and 3rd switch, the train traffic was restored. |

technical investigation of railway accident that took place on 19.12.2012 around 11:38 hour at Shumen railway station - fire of electric locomotive № 42081.0 of passenger train № 90101

Train No 90101 hauled by a locomotive 42-081 arrived at destination railway station of Shumen at 11:33 LT. At 11:35 local time, the locomotive crew sensed a smell of burning. The crew looked back to the second cabin and saw a smoke coming out from the lower backside of the locomotive. When the crew boarded the rear cabin of the locomotive, they discovered that dense and stifling smell from the intermediate corridor from the driver's side.
The locomotive brigade immediately started to fight the fire using all the four powder fire extinguishers available, but without success. They called 112 and requested assistance from the Fire Fighting Department. The fire truck arrived at 11:56 LT and the fire was extinguished at 12:50 LT. No fatalities or wounded. The locomotive suffered serious damage in the rear cabin. The locomotive brigade followed all the instructions.
