The draft of the updated Bulgarian national interoperability framework for information systems in the executive authority is developed in the implementation of project “Upgrading of existing and the construction of new central e-government systems with a view to refining the information and communication environment for a better administrative service to citizens and businesses" with Reg. № К13-32-1/30.9.2013, implemented with the support of Operational program „Аdministrative capacity”, Astivity 1 „eDelivery of electronic documents and a print out of electronic documents, е-Validation of electronic documents, the updating of the Bulgarian national interoperability framework for information systems in the executive authority.“.  The national framework for interoperability of information systems in the executive authority was adopted in 2006 and has not been updated scince then.  In this regard, within the above mentioned project an analysis of the current situation in the light of experience to date had been made and on the basis of the experience of other EU countries in this field, as well as documents and programmes of the European Union and in particular the principles and recommendations of the ISA programme (Interoperability Solutions for European public administrations) and the European Interoperability Framework (EIF), and the European Interoperability Strategy.

On 20th August 2015 in the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications was held a round table to present the draft of the updated Bulgarian national framework for interoperability of information systems in the executive authority, which was attended by representatives of the administration, business and academic area. The proposals and recommendations of experts from the audience were taken into account and considered in the document.
