Today, at 11 am, Bulgarian time, in Salzburg, Austria, the delegation leaded by the Deputy Minister Krasimira Martinova signed a “Horizontal agreement” between the Republic of Bulgaria and the European Union on some aspects of the air communications. The chief director of GD “Civil Aviation Administration” Georgi Stoianov and experts were part of the delegation. The agreement was signed by the Deputy Minister Krasimira Martinova, and for the European side by the vice president and commissar of transport matters of the European commission Jack Baro, from Austrian side by the Vice Premier Minister and Minister of Transport, Innovations and Technologies Hubert Gorbach. “The signing of this agreement changes the bilateral relations, in the field of the air transport, between Bulgaria and 22 countries, members of the European Union. The agreement will have a significant role for ensuring of effective regional cooperation in a sector with a huge economical importance, as well for process lengthen of the EU widening” Georgi Stoianov said. The delegation of the Republic of Macedonia refrained from signing the agreement because of difference of opinion regarding the name of the country cited as “Former Yugoslav Republic Macedonia.
