Under the patronage of the Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev on October 9^th and 10^th 2006 in Veliko Tarnovo, an international conference “Railway Forum 2006” will take place. It has been organized by the Union of European Railway Engineer Associations (UEEIV), The Scientific-Technical Union on Transport, National Union – Society of the Railway Engineers, the Federation of the Scientific-Technical Unions in Bulgaria, with the Partnership of the Ministry of Transport, BDZ Ltd and NA “Railway Infrastructure”.

The two days discussion is devoted to the Infrastructure, technologies, and the comfort of the railways.

As foreseen, the main accents in the reports of the conference will be the Bulgarian transport system, the infrastructure priorities on the Pan-European transport corridors and the achievements in the development of the passengers and freight transportation in Europe, the rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure, the technical and the technological reorganization of the Bulgarian railways, the roll of the railway carriers for the quality improvement of the passenger’s and freight transportation, the European standards in the training of leading and exploitation staff for the railway transport, the meaning of the transport science, regarding the preparation and the realization of infrastructural projects in the railway transport in the country, as well as the safety and the risks in the railway infrastructure.

In the mainframe of the seminar in Veliko Tarnovo an exhibition will take place, where with photo and video materials, the development of the railways, from their creation till nowadays, will be presented.

During the visit in Veliko Tarnovo the Minister of Transport will carry out meetings with the Mayor of the town Rumen Rashev and with the district governor Tosko Nikiforov.
