The Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev will sign an order, for reorganization schedule of “BDZ” Ltd and NC”Railway Infrastructure”. According to this timetable, the new structures will operate after January 1st, 2007. This became clear today during the work meeting, which took place in Ruse.  Till the middle of the next year, on the base of the results from the reform, a new legislation project for the railway transport will be prepared, and changes in some other codes will be made, in order to finalize the railway reform.

Until Wednesday, November 29, 2006 the suggestions of the discussion participants must be submitted, in writing, in the EA”Railway Administration”, in order to be taken into account in the final variant of the new structures.

During the meeting the Director-Executive of BDZ Oleg Petkov and the Director-General of NC”Railway Infrastructure” Anton Ginev presented concrete projects, regarding the reorganization of the national railway system. In the infrastructure will be differentiated four central units – for movement, railroad, energy and telecommunications. In BDJ, the passenger’s transportation will be divided from the freight transports, so that in the field of the railway stations economy, as well as in the locomotive and railway economy new possibilities for better management and professional consolidation of the personnel will be opened.

The Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev declared, that the old epigram “The client is obligated – the railway is right” must be changed, in order to protect the customers rights. According to the minister, the reorganization of the two companies will give a chance for rational management of the national railway system.

During his visit in Ruse the minister attended the celebration of the 140 Anniversary from putting into operation of the first railway line in Bulgaria (the railway line Ruse – Varna) and the 40 Anniversary from the foundation of the Transport Museum. During the ceremony in the museum he rewarded 14 veterans and honored workers of the museum science.
