The Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev met representatives of the aviation branch in Bulgaria on the occasion of the international day of aviation and astronautics, April12.

"The good thing is that we can be proud with new acquisitions - the new terminal of Sofia Airport and the coming finalization of the works on the new runway, so that we will have a airport with a higher category; the concession of the airports in Burgas and Varna, preceded by the accomplishment of a own project, which gave the possibility to welcome tourist season.

Impending are also difficult moments, regarding the fulfillment of the concrete recommendations, which we have from the European Union. I am convinced that together we will release the problems of the Bulgarian aviation, especially these of our cargo aviation. I would like to assure you that we are doing everything within our power to defend the Bulgarian interest.

At the end I would like to tell you that we rely on you, on your experience and diligence. I am convinced that working together we will succeed to resolve all questions which could arise in the aviation business" - said Minister Mutafchiev.

The meeting attended representatives of the Association of the Bulgarian Air Companies,

The Pilot Association, the Association of the Engineers and Technicians from the Civil Aviation, Syndicates and Civil Aviation Veterans. On behalf of the aviation veterans General Atanas Sterev made a speech and expressed his satisfaction from the high Qualification of the Bulgarian pilots and crews.
