The Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev will visit Varna. He will attend the flag hoist ceremony and the official christening of the ship “Stara Planina” The event will take place at 11am, at Port Varna.

The ship “Stara Planina” – 42 600 tons is intended for bulk freights. His length is 176,88 meters and his wide 16.2 meters. The Captain of its first trip will be Hristo Kirchev, one of the most experienced captains in “Navigation Maritime Bulgare”.

The Chairman of the Director Board of NMB Krasimira Stoianova will be the godmother of the ship. The Mayor of Varna Kiril Yordanov and the District Governor Peter Kandilarov are invited to attend the event.

Later on the same day Minister Mutafchiev will attend the official inauguration of terminal 5 of Airport Varna. The event will take place at 13 o’clock. The Mayor of Varna Kiril Yordanov and the District Governor Peter Kandilarov, as well as the Director-Executive of “Fraport Twin Star Airport Management” Andreas Helfer and the Vice-President of Fraport AG Andrea Pall and also representatives of tour-operators and air companies are invited to participate in the event.

Terminal 5 of Varna Airport has 6 000 quadrate meter floorage. It has the necessary infrastructure, technique and equipment for servicing of arriving and departing passengers, 6 check points, cafés, shops and offices. The building of the terminal is part of the concessionaire’s program for investments, connected with immediate service improvements for the coming summer season.
