Minister Mutafchiev Met the Mayor of Vidin 24.03.2008

The Minister of Transport carried out a work meeting with the Mayor of Municipality Vidin Rumen Vidov. The upcoming concession of Port Terminal Vidin, the future development of the Port and the concession of the Port terminal - Ferryboat Complex of Vidin were subject of the discussion, as well as the construction of the new combined bridge (road and railway) over the River Danube, near Vidin (Bulgaria) and Kalafat (Rumania).

The main topic of the meeting was the building of the Danube Bridge 2 on a technical level. "There is on need of policy regarding the Bridge but work", declared Minister Mutafchiev. The Realization of Danube Bridge 2 on time depends on all sides and it is necessary everyone to take his responsibility, in order to avoid eventual delay of the project, Minister Mutafchiev also said. The Ministry of Transport and Municipality of Vidin declared their willingness for maximum efforts, in order to surmount the technical issues.

The Mayor of Vidin promised that the Municipality will be a good partner during the building of the bridge. He also said, that the executor of the Bridge can relay on the support from side of the municipality in case of problems during the building process.

The minister and the mayor came to an agreement that experts from the Municipality should take part in the monthly work meetings of the operative groups in the Ministry of Transport.
