Directorate General “CAA” Will Control the Respect of the Rights of Disabled Passengers and Persons with Reduced Mobility 15.07.2008

Directorate general "Civil Aviation Administration" will control the accomplishment of the duties of the airport operators and the air carriers regarding the Regulation EU №1107/2006 of the European Parliament and the Council from July 5th, 2006, which operates from July 26th, 2008, concerning the rights of the people with disabilities and passengers with reduced mobility during the travel with air transport. This became possible with the last revisions of the Civil Aviation Low.

According to Regulation EU № 1107/2006 the airport operators and the air carriers shall carry out the necessary measures in order to ensure the travel with air transport for disabled people and persons with reduced mobility on the territory of the European Union. When the measures which has been undertaken or the support given do not correspond to the regulation, recompense must be paid to that person. Directorate general "Civil Aviation Administration" may additionally impose a fine in case of infringement of the European requirement.
