Bulgaria signed the "Code of Conduct on co-operation in the field of civil aviation serious accident/incident investigation" of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC). Bulgaria became the 30 member country of ECAC, which will observe the principles of this document. The code is based totally on the principles of Anex 13 for investigation of air accident/incident, and gives a possibility for mutual support between the member countries of ECAC by investigation of serious aviation accident/incident and gives also the opportunity to for exchange and training of high-quality specialists in the field of accident/incident investigation in the member countries of ECAC. The inspectors from the "Directorate for Aircraft Maritime and Railway Accidents Investigation" of the Ministry of Transport will be able to rely on expert help in case of investigation of serious air accident/incident, as well as to afford help in case of accident/incident in another country member of ECAC. The goal of the Code of conduct is to ensure optimum usage of the available expert and technical resources for the needs of investigation of aviation accident/incident, as well as to increase the air transport safety.
At the heart of the code of conduct development is the activity of the Accident/Incident investigation group of ECAC, where representatives of "Directorate for Aircraft Maritime and Railway Accidents Investigation" of the Ministry of Transport actively collaborate.
