MTITC Reports: the Ship “Ilinden” Was Extracted from the Water 19.09.2009

Today in the early afternoon began the first attempt of the Croatian company "Dubina" to extract the sunken ship "Ilinden" from the water. The strengthening was achieved with 24 balloons and the action has been accomplished in the presence of all specialists under the supervision of the Chief Secretary of Interior of Macedonia - Todorovski.

The attempt was successful and the vessel was removed from the water of the lake. Now the ship will be towed to the port by the Civil Police. The following activities of the investigating group will be accomplished, namely a detailed physical inspection and a consultation, which will be caried out, as expected, late in the evening. This will complete the first stage of the investigation activities in Ohrid. As expected the team of MTITC - specialists on transport accidents, sent with the order of Minister Aleksandar Tsvetkov will come back to Bulgaria in the end of the week.
