The Railways Introduce New Rules The customer information in BDZ is priority for MTITC and the main goal is the gradual introduction of European standards for quality service. In pursuance of the order of the Minister of Transport, Information technology and Communications Aleksandar Tsvetkov since the end of August BDZ and the National Company "Railway Infrastructure" developed measures for improvement of the information service for the passengers in cases of impaired movement schedule. The new rules come into force today and give the possibility for timely information in cases of stopping or technical failure, incident along the railway road, waiting for connection with other trains, medical assistance to a traveler etc. The staff of the train should inform the passengers up to 15 minutes about the reason of the delay, as well as about the projected length of stay, as well as about the measures undertaken. In case of accident the competent police authorities, which are working on the investigation should set the time of the stay. The new regulation foresees also timely submission of information to the passengers in all following railway stations on the route, in case of emergency stopping of the train. The message content standards are already developed. At the small stations where BDZ staff is not available, the passenger's information will be given by the duty officers of NKZI. The both railway companies undertook concrete activities regarding the improvement of the synergy in the different structures, which will optimize the informational streams and will increase the service quality.
