The quick settlement of the problem with the payment of the BDZ employees' compensation did not come as a result of the tension around the protests that took place last week. They originated from a technical delay in the remitting of the subsidy, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Aleksandar Tsvetkov after a meeting with representatives of the union organizations from the railway sector. Minister Tsvetkov and the union members reached an agreement that the delay in the payment of the advance compensation and the salaries will not exceed five days. A consensus was also reached regarding the regular payment of the vouchers for work conditions. Minister Tsvetkov also clarified that the amount which has been accumulated until now as delayed payment will be compensated throughout the year. After the meeting, it was also clarified that the unions did not support the protests that took place last week. In their opinion, the reforms that are carried out by the government will be supported by them but they also need to be discussed with them. "We must work together, otherwise things are doomed," the union members emphasized. Deputy Minister Kamen Kitchev, Pencho Popov, Executive Director of BDZ, Petar Bunev, Chairman of the Syndicate of the Railway Men, Ekaterina Yordanova, Chairwoman of the Transport Syndicates in Bulgaria, Jordan Manov, Chairman of the Syndicate of the Personnel Responsible for Train Engines, Rozen Zarkov, Chairman of the Federation of Transport Workers "Podkrepa" and Boris Tasev, Chairman of the National Railway Syndicate "Podkrepa" were all present at the meeting.
