Minister Aleksandar Tsvetkov Ordered a Special Organization that Will Allow for Quicker Freight Movement with Railway Transportation 19.01.2010
Large size
The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Aleksandar Tsvetkov ordered that BDZ creates a special organization for freight movement to Greece, beginning today (19.01.2010). This will allow for the quicker freight movement towards our southern neighbor given the blocked roads in the regions near the border crossing points.

The train stations which have freight loading capacity are: Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Dupnitsa, Damianitza and Kulata.

The freight from Blagoevgrad, Dupnitsa, Damianitza and Kulata can be unloaded at every train station in Greece, open for service.

In Sofia, there is a possibility for loading containers, as well. On the Greek side, the only station where unloading of containers is possible is the one in Thessaloniki.

At this point, there are already 2 requests for railway freight transportation from Kulata to Greece.

 For more information, please call BDZ SPED + 359 2 932 41 49 and + 359 2 932 42 12.
