Deputy Minister Parvan Rusinov Opened an International Meeting for Electronic Infrastructures 12.05.2010

Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Parvan Rusinov opened an international working meeting entitled “Electronic infrastructures in Southeast Europe: planning and vision”. The meeting is part of the regional initiative SEERA_EI (South East European Research Area for Infrastructures), which unites 19 partners and 10 countries.

The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications (MTITC) supports the realization of SEERA_EI project in cooperation with the countries from Southeast Europe as a step toward synchronization between the policies, said the Deputy-Minister during the meeting. He added that the Bulgarian research community has interest in using the electronic infrastructures. The Bulgarian scientists have developed high effective Grid and supercomputer applications in the area of statistical physics, environment protection, computing chemistry, biomedicine, etc.

The Bulgarian participants in the SEERA_EI project are Executive Agency "Electronic Communication Networks and Information Systems" and the Institute for Parallel Processing – BAS.
