The oil spill located in the area of port Balchik is already cleaned – informed the executive director of Maritime Administration Sergey Tzarnakliyski.
A signal about an oil spill was received early in the morning today on the 112 emergency phone line. A task force was formed immediately by teams from the Regional Police, Fire Department, Border Police, Maritime Administration and Civil Defence, which cleaned the spot in less than four hours.
Most probably the reason for the oil spill is a leak from a small sea-going vessel. The experts have determined that the environment is not affected and there is no danger of ecological pollution in the area.
