The Bulgarian Shepherd Dog and Five Other Dog Breeds Typical for the Balkans are Depicted on a Postage Stamp 09.06.2010
Large size

A postage stamp with six dog breeds typical for the Balkan region is on the philatelic market as of today. The Bulgarian Shepherd Dog as a unique breed for Bulgaria, the Carpathian shepherd dog from Romania, the Dalmatian from Croatia, the Serbian Tricolour, the Macedonian Sharplaninac and the Turkish Kangal are depicted on the stamp.

Besides the interesting collectors theme, the postage stamp is highly anticipated because of its limited circulation – only 6 500 copies. This is the first stamp of a series of philatelic products, which the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications will issue on the occasion of the International Philatelic Exhibition Balkanfila 2010. It will be held in October in the city of Plovdiv.
