MTITC Signed a Joint Declaration with Greece for Cooperation in the Railway Sector 27.07.2010

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications of Bulgaria Aleksandar Tsvetkov and the Minister of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks of Greece Dimitrios Reppas signed joint declaration for future cooperation in the railway sector during the joint sitting of the Cabinets of Bulgaria and Greece.

The joint declaration outlines the priorities in the railway sector on which Bulgaria and Greece will cooperate, including: creating a railroad corridor for freight transport from Greece to Russia through Bulgaria, joint actions for the fast realization if “Project 22” – Athens – Thessaloniki – Promahon – Kulata – Sofia – Vidin – Kalafat – Krayova – Timisoara – Kurtishi – Lokoshaza – Budapest – Gyor – Hegyeshalom, reducing the waiting time at the Bulgarian-Greece border, boosting the interoperability of each country’s railway system and others.
