On the initiative of the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Alexandar Tsvetkov launched today extensive checks on the regularity of passengers on trains. The checks are carried out by Bulgarian State Railways and Transport Police.

The aim is to put an end to the practice of passengers who travel without a ticket. The inspections will focus on prevention conductors to take money from passengers without issuing a document.

Today's inspection of the staff by Bulgarian State Railways and Transport Police authorities was carried out between 6.00 and 8.00 am in directions Sofia- Plovdiv and Sofia-Mezdra.

The inspection started from the railway station Vakarel towards Sofia and it was found out that 41 train passengers do not have tickets. 35 of them were taken off at Elin Pelin station.

The head of the train and the conductor were taken to Transport Police to clarify the situation.

On the second line the inspection started from the railway station Rebrovo, two passengers without tickets paid the fine imposed on them, and one was taken off the train by force.

The unannounced inspections will continue on all railway lines.
