By decision of the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Alexandar Tsvetkov on 22 October 2010, BDZ EAD was restructured into a holding company.
In the holding company under the "umbrella" of BDZ EAD will be formed and will follow two business lines - one in charge of passengers, and another one in charge of freight transport.. The new holding company is going to take over the management of the valuable railroad assets, such as locomotives and carriages.
By changing the organizational and management structures of the Bulgarian railway carrier, they will be aligned with those of the European Railways. The main objective is to create a workable and effective system of reforms and changes by which the company will act as a profitable company. |
