Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Alexandar Tsvetkov met today the Minister of Economic Development of Italy Paolo Romani.

The main topics discussed during the talks were related to cooperation between the two countries in the process of transition of Bulgaria to the development of digital TV and broadband internet. It was discussed as well the development of European Corridor VIII and the opportunities for cooperation in the development and modernization of the Sofia Metro, tram lines and railway links.

During the talks the two ministers agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with the switchover to digital TV in Bulgaria. The Italian side is ready to provide Bulgaria know-how and experience in the transition from analog to digital television. We work now in this direction and that is why I believe that the Italian experience will be of great benefit for us", said Minister Alexandar Tsvetkov during the talks.
