The Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivan Markov gave the grand prize in the "IT Manager of the Year” at a ceremony in Sofia's Sheraton Hotel.

The award was received by Dimitar Nestorov, Head of Information and Communication Technologies at the Non-ferrous Metals Smelter in Plovdiv.

The prestigious award is an assessment for both for the manager and his team, who for the past two years have made cost reduction and streamlining of work in the plant through a new organization of information and communication resources, said during the ceremony Ivan Markov. "It is very important to congratulate the success of a manager in an area where the government is also making strenuous efforts to achieve effective management through information technology," he added.

The competition is organized by the Club of the IT Managers and ICT Media.
