Nearly 600 million € have been contracted under Operational Programme “Transport” toward the end of 2010, said the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivailo Moskovski during the inauguration of the forum for presentation of the progress on the Operational Programme. This means that is negotiated almost 30 % of the Programme budget.
Only this year are contracted nearly 365 million € which represents 60% of all contracted resources on the Programme from 2007 until now. Most of them are for a building of Trakia highway (lots 2, 3 and 4).
Ivailo Moskovski announced that the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications has approved the application form of the railway project Parvomai – Svilengrad. It was sent on December 1 in the European Commission for examination and final approval. The value of the unpaid aid is nearly 180 million €.
The progress on Operational Programme “Transport” for 2010 makes us believe that we are on the right track, said the Deputy Minister. We have set high goals. One of the steps to achieve that is through the so called “over booking” or the inclusion of projects in the Programme that exceed its total budget.
The goal is to be given priority of projects that are in implementation process or projects which are with the best designed mode, explained Ivailo Moskovski.
Within the forum the beneficiaries presented the progress on individual projects. The project for Sofia subway is almost ready in its two phases. The work on Trakia highway has reached over 20% and a railway project Svilengrad-Turkish/Greek border is 36 % complete. |
