The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Aleksandar Tsvetkov and representatives of the trade union organizations of CITUB and Labour Confederation “Podkrepa” come to an agreement to be established a working group that will prepare a financial bailout plan and a plan for the investment program of the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) and the Bulgarian State Railways.

In the working group will be included representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Ministry of Finance, NRIC, Bulgarian State Railways and representatives of both syndicates.

The two sides came to an agreement not to be cut down the staff of the Bulgarian State Railways and NRIC until the working group finish its activity. The railways are out of condition but the signing of the Memorandum with the World Bank is a clear sign that there is a will for reformation of both companies, said Aleksandar Tsvetkov. The measures that we undertook have already taken effect. In 2010 compared to 2009 the Bulgarian State Railways has better financial result with over 10 million levs. The National Railway Infrastructure Company has diminished its own loss with 43 million levs, stressed the Minister.

Aleksandar Tsvetkov offered to the syndicates to be prepared a social package for the employees who give up the two companies as a result of the optimization of their structures.

The meeting that took place in the building of CITUB was also attended by the Minister of of Labour and Social Policy, Totyo Mladenov, the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Kamen Kichev, Stanislav Ivanov, member of the transport committee in the National Assembly.
