Minister Tsvetkov presented the security measures of the transport objects 27.01.2011

The Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology Alexandar Tsvetkov met today with representatives of the leadership of objects of national importance of the transport system. They presented the security measures as well as their willingness about the requirements for the accession of the country to Schengen.

After the talks Minister Aleksandar Tsvetkov said that the security measures of the Bulgarian airports completely satisfy the European requirements. There are not allowed compromises about the airport’s security and will not be allowed in the future. All areas with public access are controlled and the travellers can feel safe, added Minister Tsvetkov. Also it was made a review of the security measures at railway stations in the country. There are installed security systems at all major railway stations. It is realized constant surveillance, said Minister Tsvetkov.

During the last year there were two inspections by the European Commission and it was noted that the Bulgarian airports satisfy the European security requirement as well as satisfy the requirements to international civil airports for the accession of the country to Schengen. The railway station Capitan Andreevo will be put into effect according to the requirements for joining the Schengen area until February, 9, 2011, said Minister Aleksandar Tsvetkov.
