The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Parvan Rusinov took part in an educational game for safety Internet with students from 51st secondary school “Elisaveta Bagryana” in Sofia. The game “In the world of the spam” was initiated by the National Center for safety Internet and Association “Parents”. February, 8 is the world day for safety Internet and through the game Bulgaria marks this day.
The game helps to understand the rules of the safety surfing the Internet, said the Deputy Minister Rusinov. He also said that 92 % of the Bulgarian children between the ages of 9 -16 used Internet. 51 % of them have profiles in the social network. In the case of one third of them their personal data can be seen by everyone. In the same time the mass of the parents of these children underrate the risks to which are exposed their children. These results are based on the survey “EU Kids Online: Risks and security in Internet”, realized by London School of Economics with the support of the European Union.
On the initiative of the European network of centres for safety Internet Insafe the Day for safety Internet has been celebrated since 2004. This year the initiative is celebrated for the eight time under the motto “It is not just a game, this is your life”. The theme encourages children and the young people to think about their online identity and the preservation of its real identity.
In Bulgaria the Day for safety Internet was celebrated in more than 100 schools in 14 cities.
