The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Aleksandar Tsvetkov attended at the official signing of the contract for rehabilitation of the railway line Plovdiv-Burgas.
I am satisfied that today we have signed this important contract for the railway transport and we have managed to save 110 million levs to the Bulgarian and European taxpayer, said Aleksandar Tsvetkov. He called that because of the too high offers the first auction for selection of the project’s executor was stopped. After repeated procedure it was elected the consortium “GCF-SK 13 – Trace Railinfra” which offered to be built a road for 316 968 850,42 levs (without VAT). In this way in practice were saved 110 million levs which is the difference between the lowest bid from the first auction and the offer of the company that was selected as an executor.
The project for rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure along the sections of the line Plovdiv-Burgas is divided into detached positions for which the elected executor offered the following prices:
- Position 1 – Rehabilitation of the railway segment Mihaylovo Kaloyanovets – 29 652 343,58 levs without VAT; date – 18 months;
- Position 2 – Rehabilitation of the railway segment Stara Zagora – Yambol and Zavoi-Zimnitsa – 151 536 000,19 levs without VAT; date – 43 months;
- Position 3 – Rehabilitation of the railway segment Tserkovski – Karnobat – 135 780 506,65 levs without VAT. Date – 38 months.
The contract was sign by the Director General of the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) Milcho Lambrev and the director of the consortium Eduardo Rossi in the presence of the Italian Ambassador Stefano Benazzo.
The project “Rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure along the sections of the line Plovdiv-Burgas” is financed by Operational Programme “Transport”. The total project budget is approximately 490 million levs and the financial aid - 427 million levs.
