The image of the first man flied in the cosmos – Yuri Gagarin, has been printed on a postage stamp on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the flight. The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications put the post - philatelic edition into circulation.

The edition contains a section with two postage stamps with nominal value of 0,65 levs and 1,50 levs. They have been printed in 15 000 copies. The price of the illustrated envelope is 0,65 levs and its circulation is 3 615 copies. The author of the projects is the artist prof. Zdravko Stoyanov.

Bulgaria is a part of the cosmic family with two cosmonauts – Georgi Ivanov and Aleksandar Aleksandrov, as well as with the development of devices for cosmic examinations and production of cosmic food.
