Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications and the “Bulgarian Posts” joined the worldwide celebration of 150 anniversary of Fridtjof Nansen. Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski and the Ambassador of Norway validated a postage stamp dedicated to the researcher, scientist and statesman.

This mail-philatelic edition is our expression of respect for one of the greatest personalities of 19th and 20th century, said Minister Ivaylo Moskovski at the ceremony. He stressed that the Norwegian national hero has an outstanding contribution to solving the problems with refugees. Fridtjof Nansen had helped thousands of Bulgarians from Western Tracia to return home after the First World War. He also received Nobel Peace Prize for this.

Bulgarian stamp with the image of Fridtjof Nansen has circulation of 13,000 copies. Artist of the project is Prof. Dimitar Trendafilov.

European Ambassadors were honoured guests at the ceremony.
