The navigation along the Danube river was suspended 08.02.2012

Executive Agency Maritime Аdministration suspended the navigation along the Bulgarian section of the Danube River due to harsh weather conditions and growing ice floe. A similar ban was imposed by the authorities in neighbouring Romania.

All skippers are aware of the situation, as also the Danube Commission. Executive Agency Maritime Administration together with the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River are observing the situation and are ready to repeal the ban when the conditions allow.

Masters of ferries operating voyages between Vidin and Calafat and Oryahovo-Beckett  are authorized to assess the situation in the region and according to her, observing all safety conditions, to decide for the trip.

Danube ports of Lom, Vidin and Oryahovo are open and if necessary have the opportunity to take ships.
