Projects for over 3,2 bln. levs have been approved for funding under Operational Programme on Transport until now 28.03.2012

Approved grant under "Operational Programme on Transport" to date is 3,2 bln. BGN , this is over  84% of the program budget. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications during a meeting with the members of European Affairs and European Funds Control Committee. According to his words beneficiaries have been paid more than EUR 989 million, representing over 25% of the program budget.

"No member state has managed to acquire 100% European funding provided in the first programming period. Bulgaria has all chances to become the first country in the European Union, which can absorb all available funds under the program, "said Minister Moskovski.

“By the end of the summer Lot 2 and Lot 3 of the highway "Trakia" will be fully completed, as also the extention of the subway from ​​Obelia to Nadejda and from Mladost to Tzarigradsko Shosse” the Minister said.

He added that eight big  infrastructure projects, covered by the program, are in process of implementation. The application forms for seven of them had been approved by the European Commission and  the project for "Struma" highway is in a process of evaluation at the moment.
