The Prime Minister Boyko Borisov together with the Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski and the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova gave start of Lot 4 of “Struma" Motorway project.

“After signing that contract, the amount of contracted funds under Operational Programme Transport exceeds 3.602 billion BGN" said Minister Ivaylo Moskovski during the event. This is over 90% of the program budget and several projects are in the final stage of construction. "To date we have paid more than 1.015 billion BGN to beneficiaries,  this is about 26% of the program budget," he added.

At the moment 11 infrastructure projects are in process of implementation - eight of them are "big". At this point the European Commission has approved the application forms of seven of the major projects, one is pending.

The project, which was launched today should be completed in 23 months, and the contract value is almost 56 million BGN . “Struma" Motorway is part of European Transport Corridor № IV and trans highway "North - South".

The project will be financed by Operational Programme Transport, 80% of the funds are provided by the EU Cohesion Fund and 20% by the national budget.
