Minister Ivaylo Moskovski will sign a contract for a grant for "Metropolitan" JSC 17.10.2012

The Council of Ministers has agreed that the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications as the Head of the Managing Authority of Operational Programme "Transport" Ivaylo Moskovski to sign a contract for the provision of grants to "Metropolitan" JSC. The contract is for the implementation of the project for extension of the Metropolitan Sofia - Phase III, Lot 1- from Tsarigradsko shose to the new terminal at the Sofia Airport  and Lot 2 – from Mladost 1 to the Business Park in Mladost 4,  before final approval of the project by the European Commission and in condition of negotiation over the budget of priority axis 3 "Improvement of intermodality for passenger and freight".

The section of the project  from Tsarigradsko shose to the new terminal at the Sofia Airport was included in the scope of the OP "Transport" with the decision of the Monitoring Committee of the Programme since December 2011. Lot 2 -  from Mladost 1 to the Business Park in Mladost 4, was also included in June 2012.

The total grant for the project will be about 215 million BGN. The project include the implementation of two lots: Lot 1- from Tsarigradsko shose to the new terminal at the Sofia Airport  and Lot 2 – from Mladost  1 to the Business Park in Mladost 4.

The contracts for Lot 1 had already been signed. Tenders for Lot 2 are expected to be completed in the beginning of  2013.
