Objects of Khan Kubrats’ golden treasure depicted on a postage stamp 07.11.2012

A  postage stamps on the occasion of “100th  ANNIVERSARY FROM THE DISCOVERY OF THE GOLDEN TREASURE AND THE BURIAL PLACE OF KAN KUBRAT” was put into use.

The author of the project Maya Cholakova depicted objects from Khan Kubrats’  golden treasure, which was found 100 years ago in the area of Ukraine.

The treasure of Khan Kubrat is uncommonly rich, consisting of over 800 pieces, mainly of gold (total weight over 25 kg) and silver (over 50 kg).

The special edition consists of a postage stamp with circulation of 60,000 pieces and nominal value ofBGN 1, and a special stamp.

The postage stamp was validated by the Chief Executive Officer of Bulgarian Posts PLC Deyan Daneshki. During the ceremony the Coordinator for Bulgaria of the International Committee Evgenia Dimitrova, thanked the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communication  for the support.
