The possibility Plovdiv Airport to become a partner in an European network of cities with developed fair and congress tourism. This was discussed during the official visit of  the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski in the international forum "Innovation and creating a global network of cities and companies". The event was held in Monza, Italy, and the Bulgarian delegation was attended by Hristina Koleva Director of International Fair-Plovdiv and Doychin Angelov, CEO of Plovdiv Airport.

"The combination of rich heritage and good traditions in international fairs making Plovdiv is an attractive destination for business meetings and investments", said minister Moskovski. According to him Plovdiv airport is able to offer quality services and to meet the needs for scheduled flights and charters ". “We hope that this airport will help for better positioning of Plovdiv in the international market", added Minister Moskovski.

During the event minister Moskovski presented opportunities for investments in Bulgaria, and focused on public-private partnership as a successful mechanism for development of major transport projects. They discussed the possibilities for relieved loans and European funding for projects in the field of innovation of the enterprises and urban environments.

Among the objectives of the international forum in Monza were the establishment of regular contacts between cities, which will bring together public and private sector in the implementation of joint projects and finding business opportunities and partnerships. The forum was attended by representatives of the governments of European countries, entrepreneurial networks and consortia.
