The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications is preparing the organization of a Public Council.

The Council will have a basic and an extended composition. Two secretaries and members will be included within the basic composition. One of the secretaries will be a representative of the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, and the other elected by the main staff of the Council will be a representative of the civil quota. Representatives of organizations within the industry, trade unions, universities, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, civil society, NGOs and one representative of each of six regional development councils of the districts will participate at the Council.

The Council is an advisory body to the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications. The main activity of the Council will be taking decisions and adopting initiatives to implement state policies on the development of transport infrastructure and services, e-communications and postal services, information technology, advanced broadband infrastructure, e-management and e-government abiding by the principles of publicity and transparency.

The mandate of the Public Council is until the end of the mandate of the caretaker government.
