The concession contract for Plovdiv railway station may be reviewed 12.07.2013

The concession contract for the "Plovdiv" Central Railway Station may be revised, if necessary, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Danail Papazov, during the Parliamentary Control. The reason for the statement of the minister was a question raised by MP Petar Mutafchiev on destruction of state property by the concessionaire.

Minister Papazov added that the weaknesses were spotted in preparation of the analysis for the concession. On June 3, 2013, a letter by the owner of the station informed of the impending demolition of a building that is owned by the National Company "Railway Infrastructure". However, under the contract, such activities can not begin by a notice but only with the written consent by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. This letter has not been sent to the concessionaire.

Minister Papazov informed that they will analyze the Commission's work in controlling the execution of the concession contract for the station in Plovdiv in detail.
