About 10 700 decoders for digital television have been distributed to socially disadvantaged people since the beginning of August. This is part of the first stage of providing decoding devices to about 124 000 socially disadvantaged citizens from four regions of the country: the north-West region, the North-East region, the south central region and the territory of Sofia social Assistance Directorate – Oborishte.
Since the beginning of the programme for providing decoding devices to people with heating subsidies for 2012/2013, 4650 decoders have been delivered at the “Zora” chain stores. On average 660 people with vouchers for digital television use the opportunity to get a free device daily. Decoders are most actively distributed in the cities of Plovdiv, Shoumen, Haskovo, Pazardjik, Varna and Dobritch. There are stores which provide about 140-160 decoders daily.
“K&K Electronics”, which services the North-West region, has provided more than 5 888 decoders. The largest number of devices provided is in the regions of Montana – 1692 items, Vidin – 1490 items, Pleven – 1160 items and Vratza – 1081 items. In the town of Lovetch 465 people have claimed their decoders.
The Technopolis store accounts for 178 devices provided on the territory of the Oborishte region in Sofia.
According to the bids of the candidates who won the first lot of the offer for the provision of decoders to the socially disadvantaged, the price of the devices for digital, satellite and cable TV is lower than the amount of 60 Lev of the voucher. The excess is to stay in the state budget. The companies that provide the devices will receive the money for the delivery of the decoders after mid September following the authentication of the vouchers and depending on the amount of the devices provided. |
