The 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the United States was celebrated with a release of a special post stamp. The stamp for the validation of the anniversary edition was set jointly by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Danail Papazov, the Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin and the U.S. Ambassador to Bulgaria Marcy Ries. They highlighted the excellent relations between the two countries during their addresses to the guests of the ceremony.
The today’s post stamp is the second in Bulgarian poststamp issuance dedicated to the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the United States, said Minister Papazov.
In 2003 a post stamp was issued on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the historical event. In his words, over the years, the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Austria, Azerbaijan, Italy, Spain and Kazakhstan have been celebrated with the issuance of post stamps.
The "110 years of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the United States" edition consists of a post stamp with a circulation of 11,000 pcs., and illustrated cover, which is printed in 1030 copies. The artist of the projects is Teodor Liho. |
