Today the digital TV authority decided that the analogue TV signal will be discontinued on 30 September 2013 at midnight. The date was suggested by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov. He announced during the meeting that the distribution of decoders for socially disadvantaged residents in North Central regions ( areas of Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Ruse , Razgrad, Silistra ), the Southwest region which covers  Blagoevgrad, Kyustendil , Pernik, Sofia region, the territory of Sofia city without the Oborishte region and the Southeast ( Bourgas, Sliven, Stara Zagora, Yambol) begins as of today. The provision of vouchers in these areas began on September 11.

Receipt of vouchers across the country will continue until October 30, 2013 and they are valid until November 30, 2013. The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications appeals to all citizens who are entitled to free decoders to receive them by the end of September, in view of the decision to stop the analog TV signal.

The Program for the Delivery of Decoders covers about 210 000 people who received assistance for heating for the 2012/2013 season. It is being implemented in two stages. The first phase of the supply of decoders for socially disadvantaged citizens began in August. The term of the simulcast of analogue and digital TV signal was extended with one month to ensure that all people with the right of a voucher take advantage of receiving free decoders.
