The value of the contracts signed with the contractors under Transport Operational Programme has reached 92 per cent of the total resource of the programme. This was noted in the presentation that the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Petar Kirov, made at today’s conference “Constructions in 2014 – perspectives and challenges”, which was organized by the Bulgarian Construction Chamber.

“About 1 billion Euros and half of the programme budget have already been paid to the beneficiaries”, said Deputy Minister Kirov. In his words, these are real funds that have entered Bulgarian economy. The expenses certified to the European Commission have reached 731 million Euros, which accounts for 45 per cent of the budget. “About 106 million Euros are to be certified to the EC by the end of 2013, which will ensure that at this stage there will not be any losses of funds”, added Petar Kirov.

The Deputy Minister underlined that currently the projects for the next programming perio0d are being prepared and the shortest possible list is to be presented in few days for public discussions and at national and European level. The main priorities of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications were outlined within the framework of the presentation.
