The new Executive Director of Automobile Administration Executive Agency is Dimitar Ganev.

Dimitar Ganev joined the Ministry of Energy in 1975. In 1979 he joined the Scientific Research Laboratory of Road Safety within the Ministry of Interior. From 1991 to 1999 he worked as secretary of the National Commission on Traffic Safety in the Council of Ministers. In 2000 he was appointed Director General of the Automobile Administration, which in 2001 was transformed into an Automobile Administration Executive Agency.

Since 2002 he worked as an expert to the Committee on Transport and Communications within the 40th National Assembly, General Secretary within Civil Association "For the safety of road traffic," and Secretary of the Bulgarian Association of Societies for Road Transport. In 2010 he was appointed as Deputy Executive Director of "Automobile Administration" Executive Agency, he held the position until 2011. In 2013 he became a Chairman of the board of the Civil Association "Public Council for Road Safety", and held this position until his appointment as Executive Director of the "Automobile Administration". 

He has been involved in the preparation of some of the most significant amendments to the Road Transport Act, the Road Traffic Act and the Annex thereto, as well as other regulations. 

Dimitar Ganev graduated "Automation of industrial production" in the Mechanical and Electrical Institute in Sofia. He is fuent in English and Russian.
