Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov announced today at an official ceremony the suspension of analog television signal broadcast in Sofia. Bulgaria today goes entirely to digital TV, which provides more television programs with better quality.

Bulgarian state enabled socially disadvantaged residents who are eligible for energy assistance for heating period 2012-2013 year to receive free digital television decoders, recalled Deputy Minister Todorov. According to him, the program covers up to 210,000 people, where about 130,000 vouchers and about 90 000 devices distributed to date.

Georgi Todorov reminded that people who, for one reason or another, have not taken their voucher, may do so by 30 October. The deadline to get a free decoder is 30 November.

The ceremony of the suspession of analog television signal was attended by the Chairman of the Council for Electronic Media, Prof. Georgi Lozanov, members of the Body on digital TV, the management of "NURTS Bulgaria."
