Deputy Minister Georgi Todorov begins inspection for the readiness of "Bulgarian Posts" for the larger volumes of letters and parcels for Christmas 02.12.2013

Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov began a series of inspections of the exchange-sorting centers of "Bulgarian Posts" readiness to handle larger volumes of letters and parcels that people exchange for Christmas and New Year holidays. Today the Deputy Minister visited the center in "Vrajdebna", Sofia.

For the first nine months of 2013 the cener has processed more than 31 million ordinary and about 6.7 million units refferenced mail with sender and recipient within the territory of the country. 21 million ordinary letters were exchanged with foreign countries and over 1 million units international reference letters. Exchange-sorting center in Sofia handled 88,000 international parcels. The center has spread over 680 000 number of parcels that were sent and received within the country.

This year’s expectations are to double the letters and parcels, and about 20% increase in the letters.
