The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov today validated an illustrated postcard entitled "World Freestyle Motocross Championship". "What freestyle motocross riders do is on the verge of sport and art. So I am happy that through philatelic art we will celebrate the hosting of Bulgaria in the final round of the World Championship" said at the ceremony the Deputy Minister.
Motorcycling topic is relatively rare in the Bulgarian postage stamp issuing. Two stamps have been issued so far - a European Cup Supermoto-GRAND PRIX BULGARIA (Dolna Mitropoliq – Pleven track) in 2009 and in 2011 for Dakar Rally.
On the occasion of the "Night of the jumps", the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications shall issue post card collectors edition of 733 pieces. The artist of the project is Luba Tomova.
The first edition, which was sealed today by Georgi Todorov, will be one of the prizes in a draw that will be held on December 14 for the spectators of the competition between the flying motorcycles. |
