"For the first time in "BDZ - Passenger Transport" was put in operation a central information system that covers the whole process of tickets issuing from beginning to end." That was stated by Minister Danail Papazov during the presentation of BDZ’s pilot system for online booking and tickets issuing.

It offers fast, easy and modern way of buy train tickets, regardless of the location of the passenger. "The successful completion of the first phase of the development and the implementation of the system is a new moment in Holding BDZ’s policy of passengers’ services" stated Minister Papazov. He explained that initially it has started with twelve trains in the main trade directions covering 55 stations.

This system allows a visual selection of berths and seats according to the composition of each train. The billing is done electronically with the most widespread credit and debit cards. The ticket can be received by the registered customer’s e-mail and it must be printed on paper.

After the demonstration of the online booking system and the tickets issuing Minister Danail Papazov presented data about the current state of Holding BDZ. He explained that the pace of accumulation of losses is significantly reduced. "The total obligations of the company of about 704 million levs at the beginning of June are already reduced to 625 million levs at the end of the year” also said Minister Papazov. In his words MTITC, the creditors and Holding BDZ’s management are leading an active dialogue and they have already signed agreements for rescheduling of the debts with Allianz Bulgaria and DEPFA Bank. The payments to the creditors are not only of interest rates but  also principal payments in the amount of 66 million levs. "We achieved all this on our own efforts without any additional funds from the state budget or loans" pointed out Minister Danail Papazov.
