Large size

Due to the coordination between the Executive Agency "Maritime Administration" and Border Police all 11 sailors from the crew of the ship that had an accident near Dourankoulak were rescued. The ship "Elland" has been loaded in with limber and was sailing from Romania to Turkey.

At around 6 a.m. a signal for a vessel in distress was sent. The signal was transmitted through the rescue center of Constanta. The 11 sailors who were on the ship in distress boarded a Turkish vessel located nearby. Maritime Administration and the Border Police jointly organized a campaign for the pulling of the damaged ship.

Despite all efforts, at about 4:30 p.m. the ship sank. At this point there is no danger of contamination of the marine environment and the situation is monitored on spot. There are only floating objects in the sea - wood that has been loaded on the ship's deck. Investigation on what caused the accident is to be carried out.
