Four billion levs have been contracted under Operational Programme "Transport" for the period 2007 - 2013, said Deputy Minister Petar Kirov today during a roundtable on "Modernisation of Public Procurement", organized by the Chamber of Builders in Bulgaria. "In the new programming period, only for 2014 beneficiaries under Operational Programme"Transport and transport infrastructure 2014 - 2020" are ready to announce procedures at the amount of about 2 billion levs”, he added.
Deputy Minister Kirov noted that under the European Structural Funds and investment funds a significant resource for the construction industry is being accumulated, and the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications supports the transparent and public allocation of this funding. According to him, some of the problems with the Public Procurement Act arise because of problems indirectly related laws. Among others these are the Law on Spatial Planning and the State Property Act. Some of the problems that the Ministry and the beneficiaries under the Operational Programme "Transport" face are related to the different interpretations of archeological excavations.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister Daniela Bobeva, the Minister of Investment Design Ivan Danov, the President of the Chamber Svetoslav Glosov, MPs and others. The issues raised today will be discussed when adopting the amendments to the Law on Public Procurement in a week. |
