Bulgaria and Romania have agreed to put into operation the rail traffic over the “New Europe” bridge between Vidin and Calafat in the shortest time possible. This was announced during the first session of the Bulgarian-Romanian Commission on cross-border rail network.

The talks were held in MTITC and were held by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Anton Ginev. The Romanian delegation was presided by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of Romania Julian Matache.

At the end of the meeting a protocol was signed and Bulgaria and Romania have agreed to form a working group for the organization of passenger and freight railway transportation. The first working group meeting will be held at the end of this month.
