Over 2.2 billion levs have been allocated under Operational Programme "Transport". This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Petar Kirov during the conference "Strategic Infrastructure Bulgaria 2014". In his words the available financial resources under the program have been agreed, and they are to improve the transport infrastructure of the country.

"Thanks to the good cooperation between the Managing Authority, beneficiaries and contractors 260 km of railway lines were modernized and over 140 km of highways were put into operation”, added Peter Kirov. According to him the development of infrastructure look optimistic because of the provision of funding opportunities in the second programming period of the operational program. " Around 1.9 billion euros will be provided under the new OP"Transport and Transport Infrastructure", and in addition we can apply for about 350 million euros under the new CEF", said Deputy Minister Kirov.

The conference was attended by the Minister of Regional Development Desislava Terzieva, the  Deputy Minister of Environment and Waters Atanas Kostadinov, the Vice-President of the Chamber of Builders in Bulgaria Andrey Cekov and others.
